Good Morning, Friend:
It’s so good to connect with you this morning as we near the end of another week and prepare for the weekend. I trust you are on target to finish the work week well. 2 Thessalonians 3: 10 states, “For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.” I’m glad we can all eat this week because of our hard work!
Honoring Community Volunteering
This Sunday we’ll be honoring those of you who volunteer in your community. So many of us reflect our third core value – ENGAGE. Here is the statement that explains the value:
We have learned that most people will not come to one of our campuses to learn about Jesus or even care that He exists until they experience a positive engagement with a Christ follower in a place where they do life. This compels us to go outside the comfort of our homes and church facilities to connect relationally with people who need to meet the Lord. Engaging spiritually unresolved people with the intent of introducing them to Jesus Christ is the third step in making active disciples.
We’ll also be remembering the Lord’s sacrifice on the cross as we partake in His Supper (communion) this weekend.
Following Jesus and Being Baptized
We are offering baptism on April 29th for anyone who has received Christ as Savior but has not been baptized. Let me know by Tuesday so I can get you ready.
Church Year-end Giving
We only have two Sundays left in our church’s fiscal year, which is May 1-April 30th. A number of you have tithed your income to the Lord this year – and it made a defining difference! Others of you are grateful for the ministry of Vantage Pointe and are considering supporting us in a greater way. We all have two more Sundays to “catch up” our giving or make a special gift to help us end in the black. Thank you, in advance, for your generosity!
